Indonesian Economic Review

1. General Provisions

Indonesian Economic Review is a scholarly journal that publishes academic works in the fields of economics, economic development, monetary and fiscal policy, international trade, finance, business economics, entrepreneurship, and related economic studies that fall within the journal's scope.

All submitted manuscripts must be original works, must not have been previously published as journal articles, and must not be under consideration for publication by another journal at the same time. All manuscripts are evaluated based on their relevance to economics, economic development, monetary and fiscal policy, international trade, finance, business economics, entrepreneurship, and compliance with publication ethics.

2. Original Research Article

An original research article presents the findings of original research using quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, descriptive, comparative, or other research approaches relevant to economics, economic development, monetary and fiscal policy, international trade, finance, business economics, and entrepreneurship.

An original research article must include, at a minimum:

  1. A title that clearly reflects the focus of the research.

  2. An abstract and keywords.

  3. An introduction explaining the research background, problem statement, research gap, and objectives.

  4. Research methods describing the research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and analytical procedures.

  5. Research findings presented systematically.

  6. A discussion interpreting the findings and relating them to relevant scholarly literature.

  7. A conclusion addressing the research objectives and explaining the contributions or implications of the findings.

  8. A relevant and verifiable reference list.

Original research articles must demonstrate a clear scholarly contribution and employ methods appropriate to the research questions or problems being investigated.

3. Review Article

A review article presents a critical synthesis of developments in knowledge, theories, concepts, approaches, or research findings in fields relevant to the journal's scope.

Review articles may take the form of systematic reviews, integrative reviews, scoping reviews, or critical reviews, provided that the methods and approaches used are described transparently.

Review articles must have clearly defined research questions or objectives, a transparent and justifiable literature search and selection strategy, in-depth analysis, and a meaningful contribution to the advancement of knowledge.

Manuscripts that merely summarize several sources without critical synthesis or a clear scholarly contribution do not meet the standards for a scholarly review article.

4. Requirements for All Manuscript Types

All manuscripts must:

  1. Fall within the journal's focus and scope.

  2. Use clear, consistent, and appropriate academic language.

  3. Follow the journal's prescribed writing guidelines and manuscript template.

  4. Include relevant scholarly references.

  5. Describe data sources and research procedures adequately.

  6. Comply with the journal's requirements concerning originality, research ethics, authorship, and conflicts of interest.

  7. Undergo all required editorial evaluation and peer review procedures.

5. Editorial Screening and Decisions

Each manuscript is initially screened by the editor to assess its relevance to the journal's scope, administrative completeness, basic scholarly quality, and compliance with publication ethics.

Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements may proceed to peer review. The journal reserves the right to request revisions, reject manuscripts, or discontinue the editorial process if a manuscript fails to meet the journal's scholarly standards or publication ethics requirements.

Acceptance of an article is based solely on its scholarly merit and the editorial decision.
